Neighborhood Spotlight: Plano

Plano is actually a suburb of Dallas and a very popular area for new residents. If you’re moving to the DFW area for work or for any other reason, Plano should be very high on your list, especially if you prefer a suburb. Here is what to expect when living in Plano.

With a historic downtown, Plano is one of the upscale places to be in the Dallas area. Plenty of museums, shops, theaters, parks, restaurants and art galleries are found throughout the area. This is a place you can live and easily walk to many of the top attractions, especially if you live in the downtown.

Plano is located to the north of Dallas from 18th Street to 14th Street and from G Avenue to L Avenue. Housing found throughout the area includes condominiums, townhomes, apartments and plenty of single-family homes. Many of the homes found here come with custom features, such as private patios, hardwood floors and fireplaces.

Many historic homes are also located in the area including Victorian design homes, which have been restored. The top communities are found to the north of downtown and provide plenty of newer homes to go with the mix of historic home in Plano.

The Plano Independent School District is one of the best in the area and provides Mendenhall Elementary, Bowman Middle School, Plano East Senior High and Williams High School.
